The 6-Day Machame Route is one of the most scenic and popular trails to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Though physically more demanding than the Marangu Route, it offers a diverse trek through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glaciers — all while using the “climb high, sleep low” strategy for better acclimatization.
After registration at Machame Gate, begin your trek through lush rainforest on a well-maintained trail. You may spot colobus monkeys and exotic birds before arriving at Machame Camp.
