Day 1: Arrival in Moshi/Arusha - Dar es Salaam – Transfer to Selous

Your journey begins with a warm Tanzanian welcome upon arrival in Moshi/Arusha - Dar es Salaam. After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the Selous Game Reserve (also known as Nyerere National Park), passing through rural landscapes, small villages, and verdant countryside. Arrive in the early afternoon and settle into your camp or lodge. As evening rolls in, take a relaxing boat safari along the winding Rufiji River. Watch hippos surface, crocodiles bask on riverbanks, and water‑birds gather in flocks. Dinner under the stars, the sound of the wilderness all around. Overnight in Selous.

Day 2: Full Day Selous Game Reserve – Vehicle & Boat Safari

Spend the full day exploring Selous in its many moods: morning game drive through open grasslands and woodland, tracking elephant herds, buffalo and perhaps elusive wild dogs. At midday, head back to camp for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, connect with the water again by boat or canoe, gliding through channels fringed with palms, watching sun‑dappled reflections and listening to the river’s song. Day 3: Walking Safari & Transfer to Mikumi via Morogoro

Rise early for a guided walking safari with an armed ranger, allowing you to sense rather than just see the wild: footprints, insects, birdsong, tiny flora details. After breakfast, depart to Mikumi. The journey is rich: passing through lush Morogoro hills, farmland mosaics, river crossings, local markets and ever‑changing scenery. Day 4: Mikumi National Park – Plains, Wildlife & Wilderness

Today is dedicated entirely to game viewing in Mikumi. Explore the sweeping Mkata Floodplain, gaze at herds of wildebeest, zebra, impala, giraffe; keep watch for lions resting in shade, leopards moving stealthily, elephants at watering holes. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the mix of woodland species, raptors overhead, and waterfowl near marshes. Return to camp for sunset, enjoy dinner under open skies. Overnight in Mikumi.

Day 5: Udzungwa Mountains – Mountains, Forests & Waterfalls

After breakfast, head into the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. This is a change of pace: mountain forest air, steep trails, shaded groves, vibrant green layers of vegetation, mist, fragrant earth. Hike to waterfalls, discover rare and endemic species – frogs, primates such as the Sanje crested mangabey, red colobus monkeys, and a rich birdlife. Lunch in the forest or camp, then an afternoon hike. Overnight inside or near the Udzungwa forest lodge.

Day 6: Deeper Udzungwa & Transfer to Ruaha

Begin the day with an early forest stroll or sunrise birding in Udzungwa. After breakfast, depart for Ruaha National Park. The drive is long but filled with ever‑changing panoramas: highlands, escarpments, dry bush, rivers. Arrive in Ruaha by late afternoon. Take a short game drive if time permits. Overnight in Ruaha.

Day 7: Full Day Ruaha – Predator Rich Wilderness

Ruaha is raw, wild and powerful. Spend a full day of game drives along the Great Ruaha River and into the rugged dry bush. Day 8: Sunrise Drive & Return to Moshi/Arusha - Dar es Salaam or Departure

Wake before dawn for an optional game drive, chasing early morning light and possibly finding predators at their most active. After breakfast, begin the journey back to Moshi/Arusha - Dar es Salaam (or transfer to the nearest airstrip if flying).
